This month, we’re exploring the bold elegance of Hermann Kilian’s capitals, pushing and pulling them to create movement, rhythm, and striking compositions. By starting with classic Roman capitals, we stretch, exaggerate, and weave them together to make letters that dance across the page.

Online Calligraphy & Card Making course starts on Friday 14th March with Rosie @inkdropsonapage
Week 1: Creating a layered gift tag bundle. Each tag focuses on skills development; nib & pressure control, stylish lettering techniques, positioning, writing on challenging card textures, adding colour…and more!

Week 2: Combining brush & pointed nib, designing different card layouts and finishing touches that give your cards an edge. I’ll also show you how to use practice paper to make envelopes, party favours & little boxes.

Week 3: Going for gold! Exploring the application of metal leaf & metallics, colour washing on watercolour card & completing your bespoke gift tag bundle to create a beautiful & useful keepsake card.

Developing your calligraphy skills is a key element of the course so there’s feedback, troubleshooting & inspiration on a friendly WhatsApp group.

If you’re new to calligraphy, start with a Beginner’s course—either online or in person to cover the basics first.
