Frisk blue masking fluid is lightly tinted so you can see your calligraphy as you work. Use it with any nib or the special brush and once dry, apply a coloured wash over the top. Rub or peel off the masking fluid when you're happy the wash is dry, using a putty eraser or your fingertips and reveal calligraphy that is the colour of the paper underneath. No blue is left.
 
Masking fluid will glue normal paintbrush fibres together, so a special masking fluid paintbrush is advised for brush calligraphy using this product.
